gold tin alloy is a type of alloy that contains gold and tin. It is a versatile metal that can be used to make various types of products.
Gold tin is sold by American Elements under the trade name AE Alloys(tm). Generally available in most volumes, AE Alloys(tm) offers this material in bar, ingot, ribbon, wire, shot, sheet, foil, and ultra high purity forms.
The gold tin alloy melts at a temperature of 280deg C.
The ternary gold-tin eutectic alloy is one of the simple binary eutectic systems that form with silicon and has its eutectic temperature of 232deg C. This alloy system is the only simple eutectic system that has both of the requirements for being one of the binary components to the ternary eutectic system.
It also has a liquidus temperature of 230deg C.
It is an excellent bonding material for a variety of applications. It is especially useful for die bonding in super luminosity type LEDs and for the bonding of air-proof sealing caps*2 for crystal devices*3 and other packages.
It is a highly compatible and reliable solder that can be used with a wide range of materials, such as copper, aluminum, and silver. It has low gold leaching, good thermal fatigue properties, and is suitable for use in step soldering. It also has excellent post-bonding reliability and is resistant to the corrosion caused by a rosin flux. It is therefore an ideal choice for high-end electronics and is suitable for many applications that require high-performance soldering.
